Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter – cut up in small pieces and put in frig to get cold
2 tablespoons Crisco – make small pieces and put in frig to get cold
2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
Dash of salt and sugar
Preheat oven to 425 (Viking) or 475 (Regular)
Cut the butter and Crisco into small pieces and put in the refrigerator until cold.
Combine all dry ingredients. Add the butter and Crisco. Then slowly incorporate the buttermilk.
Roll out on parchment paper and then cut into 6 even biscuits. Place in a cast iron pan with the biscuits touching each other. Bake for 12-15 minutes. I like to rub some melted butter on top the last few minutes of baking.
